Baby Room

Steve was hard at work during the Thanksgiving holidays. He painted the baby's room, the guest bedroom, and our bathroom this brown color. Along with painting the rooms, he painted the two dressers we bought at an unfinished furniture store. He also assembled the crib and hung the pictures and curtains.
There are a few more things we have to do (pick up the rocking chair from New Orleans and Mrs. Julie is making the actual bedding) and some other things but otherwise, the room is ready.

Loafers

My boss sent me a Lands End email a few weeks ago and they were offering free shipping. I didn't see alot of things that I liked but I did see these little baby leather loafers. I just could not pass them up. Steve has a pair of loafers that he adores (must be a guy thing) so I thought a matching pair for his son would be a great idea. The loafers came in the mail and they are cuter in person! I love them. They are a size 4 so I think the baby might be able to wear them when he is around 8 months or so.
There are a few other items in this picture: two little outfits Steve and I bought last weekend while we were setting up our baby registry at Babies R Us and a bib that my boss gave me as part of a Christmas present. They are so small and so sweet.

Baby it's cold inside!

Here are some pictures from the ICE exhibit at Gaylord Opryland. The theme this year is Charlie Brown and the exhibit was imressive AND COLD as usual. For those that don't know, ICE is an indoor exhibit full of hand carved ice sculptures. The temperature of the exhibit is 9 degrees...brrrrr!

Chrimmas Cookies

Soooo, baking sugar cookies was harder than I thought. And, it's comforting to know that it was a harder task than Steve thought too (since he is the cook in the family). We are heading to the home of one of the KPMG Partners tomorrow night and we thought it would be a nice gesture to bake homemade cookies. Looking at the above pictures, you would probably swear that a four year old made them. But, NOPE! Two 28 year old, fully capable adults baked and decorated the cookies you see above. I hope you get a good laugh...we sure did.

My First Post

I'm jumping into the 21st century just a few years late. I always enjoy reading other people's blogs but I face the same dilemma creating a blog of my own as I do with posting comments on Facebook...I'm kind of boring and I'm not sure who would be interested in reading my blogs?
Well, now that I am 5 months pregnant with our first born, I think my life may get a little more...let's say...interesting in the eyes of a reader. Plus, with so much of my family out of town, I want them to have a way to keep up with me, Steve, and baby boy Lee.
Let the blogging begin!
